Gulf Shores 2012

We had our family vacation a couple weeks ago. We went to Gulf Shores with Gammy, Grandpa, Aunt Mallory and Aunt Moe Moe. We were sad that Chad couldn't make it this year! Here are a few pictures from our week. I have more to get from other people that took them, and will post them later.

Connor on the first day. Apparently all he wanted to do was eat his crackers in the shade, but we didn't have an umbrella yet, so he improvised.

There was a hose to clean your feet off before coming up to the house, and Connor loved to play with it! He would splash himself, you, the sand, anything he could!
 My boys

If she's just not the cutest thing ever...

This is what Connor was doing while we had Kate in the water... eating crackers in the shade. He's nothing if not consistent.
He did NOT like the water. He liked for Daddy and Grandpa to get water in the bucket for him to put his feet in and splash, but getting in the ocean was out of the question.... until Mean Mommy put an end to it. So, he ate crackers in the ocean and cried for 20 minutes. The neighbors probably gave me Mommy of the Year, but by golly, that kid was going to like it whether he wanted to or not!! (and he did not want to...) However, eventually he stopped crying and let Mark just hold onto his hand.
Good boy!

First pool and ice cream truck

We went to the pool for the first time this past weekend. Connor did SO well! We couldn't believe it! At first this was him...

But after awhile he was swimming around without anybody holding him! He loves his little puddle jumper and is doing so well balancing with it. He had that yellow shark in his hand pretty much the entire two hours.
Here is our Miss Kate for the first time in the pool. She didn't really care about it, but she didn't cry. She was so cute!

Here is our big man with his first trip to the ice cream truck! He got a firecracker jr and he LOVED it more than life itself

Kate clearly thrilled with the whole situation
Here is a picture of Connor in the high chair at 6 months - I think he had a few lbs on her lol

Connor is a busy, busy boy!

Connor eating the first watermelon of the summer!

Sitting on Grandpa's motorcycle!

Kid loves to play outside! His water table is his favorite thing. He loves to get water in his cup and poor it in his dump truck and then dump it out.

First big boy summer haircut! He doesn't even look the same! He looks like he is 5 years old!!
Kate after eating her rice cereal - she was talking up a storm... until I turned on the camera of course! But she is still a cutie!

Kate started cereal

Kate started cereal! She is getting so big! Here she is for the first time!
You can see my beautiful flowers from Mark James in the background :)

Daddy took Connor and Kate outside, and it was a little chilly!
She just learned how to blow raspberries! Her whole face is wet with spit!

Easter 2012

Connor was pretty excited to look for Easter eggs, especially once he figured out that there was always something to eat inside! This first picture cracks me up... I was trying to take his picture, but he kept looking down and holding his egg by his legs, so I told him to hold his egg up so I could see it. Well, I can certainly see it now! haha!

Grandpa and Gammy scheduled a dumptruck to drop off some rock while we were there, so Connor got to see it dump it out. He was amazed!

He loves his sister! He sits down next to her sometimes and says, "Mama, Kate loves me and I love her." (Insert tears here)
At Nonnie and Papa's. Aubrey and Connor are READY to find those eggs!

We had a great Easter! Connor is so cute when you ask him what Easter is about. He says, "God's Son." And we say, who is God's son? And he says, "Jesus!!" It is amazing to think that God sent his son, Jesus, to live a sinless life here on Earth, die for us and our sins on a cross, and then God raised Him from the dead 3 days later! We really are blessed. Of course explaining all of that to a 2 year old when we ask what is Easter about is somewhat difficult, so we will stick with God's son for now! haha

Fun activity

Yesterday was a pretty busy day. Kate had her 4 month doctor's appointment (she is in the 25th% for weight and 50th% for height), we stopped by grandpa's work to feed kate and then headed to meijer. Connor ended up never falling asleep for his nap, and Kate missed her first nap.
Needless to say, we decided to stay home today and not miss any naps!!
While Connor was reading his new Tag Reader books - he LOVES them - and Kate was napping, I was looking on pinterest (Yes, I have finally given in to the peer pressure and joined) and found this super cute activity to do with Connor. I didn't have a dropper, which would have made it much easier, but we managed.
You put vinegar in a cup with some food coloring and drop it into a pan with baking soda in it. It gets fuzzy and bubbles up. He thought it was AMAZING!!

Laughing

You know those moments when you think, "My life couldn't get any better"? This video is an example of one of those moments for me.
